Worship at St. Barnabas is the center of our spiritual life and we gather for the Rite II contemporary liturgy or Rite II Morning Prayer. St. Barnabas has Holy Eucharist or Morning Prayer services each Sunday morning at 10:00 with blended traditional and contemporary music. Our talented music director leads our singing with a mixture of organ and piano accompaniment. After the liturgy, join us for coffee fellowship. Inclusion is one of our most important values and we celebrate that inclusion in all aspects of parish life — we welcome all people regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, sex, or disability.
Worship doesn’t just occur on Sunday mornings. We also have many special services during the church year. Our “Blessing of the Animals” has become an annual event that draws individuals and their animals from throughout the community! We have baptisms throughout the year and they are always a joy. Our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Whayne Hougland holds a diocesan-wide confirmation, reaffirmation and reception service a few times each year. The Bishop is a visible member of the community and worships with us at least a few times each year.
We have a dedicated and talented altar guild that support our liturgy at St. Barnabas. Acolytes, lectors, lay readers, and lay Eucharistic Ministers are all valued parts of our worship and draw many members into participation with the liturgy.
